Carlo Casolo

Carlo

Terrible news: Carlo Casolo died last week, possibly of a heart attack.

I have one paper with him, on “Integrals of groups”, published last year. In February, as I reported, I visited Florence to carry on with this work and push further, along with Francesco Matucci, who was Carlo’s student and (for the first time on this project) his collaborator.

I cannot speak too highly about Carlo’s ability – he stormed through some of the difficulties we faced – or his generosity.
