The southern (Firth of Forth) coast of Fife has many caves in the cliffs, as evidenced by placenames such as Pittenweem and Weymss. Written like this, they are a bit easier for non-Gaelic speakers to pronounce than you would guess from reading Compton Mackenzie’s novel The Monarch of the Glen.

I decided to fit out one of these caves with a glass panel cut from our bathroom window in St Andrews.
