Lisbon sunrise

Lisbon sunrise

I am living for a month in an apartment in Benfica, belonging to a semigroup theorist; so of course I am doing semigroup theory!

The view from the back of the apartment looks east, over a grassy slope. At most times of day there are egrets browsing on the grass, sometimes over twenty of them. The exception is caused by an old man who walks his dogs there and frightens the egrets away.

The sun rises over the buildings to the east, and there have been some spectacular (and very different) sunrises in my first week here.
