Notes on moonshine

A recent conversation reminded me that I had a set of notes on a talk I gave, based on an extended talk by V. Nikulin to the London Algebra Colloquium, about Borcherds’ proof of the moonshine conjecture (for which he was awarded the Fields Medal).

I thought, why not put it with my lecture notes? So here it is.

  1. Perhaps inevitably, this post attracted a comment from a company who make distillation equipment. I marked it as spam since they clearly hadn’t read what I wrote before posting.
