Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

I went to the Olympic Park for the first time today. It hasn’t been open to the general public for very long, and indeed a lot of it is still closed, and it is quite hard to find out how to get to where you are trying to go. Nice to have our open space back, in any form.

I must admit I found it quite underwhelming. For a city that boasts Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath, Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park, and other big open spaces, this one is a tiddler, much smaller than the nearby Victoria Park. It will be a bit better when the rest is open.

But we accidentally timed it so that we were there just at sunset, and one thing the park does have is stunning views of the big buildings in the city, especially in the wonderful light show that the sun and clouds put on for us.
