On the day Bob Dylan didn’t win the Nobel Prize for literature, the papers carried the news that Bert Jansch has died.
I am very far from being the only guitar player who was influenced by Bert Jansch. In fact, in the 1970s I made a collage of words by Basho and music by George Harrison, in the style of Bert Jansch. The last verse,
A traveller,
Let my name be known thus:
This autumnal shower
is perhaps not too far from describing Jansch.
Well said — the stanza for Bert Jansch.
